Toronto, ON — Larry Keating, founder and President of NPC DataGuard and CEO of Keating Technologies, will be a featured panelist during the 34th International Conference on Collaborative Advances in Software and Computing (CASCON) taking place November 11-13, 2024 at York University in Toronto.
In association with CSCAN-INFOCAN, CASCON brings together experts to advance Canadian computer science through knowledge sharing, networking, and innovation. This year’s conference will showcase thought-provoking keynotes, pioneering research, hands-on workshops, and an engaging technology expo.
The panel discussion, Responsible AI in the Workplace, one of three sessions for the AI in the Workplace (AI@Work) series, will explore critical challenges in integrating AI into the workplace. Larry Keating will address concerns around privacy and data security, while other panelists will cover areas of responsibility and accountability. The panel will also discuss the role of AI in augmenting human capabilities that enable AI tools to serve as additional team members in some workplaces.
The discussion will be moderated by Marc Hines, Head of Strategy at Interac. The panel will feature Larry Keating alongside Patricia Arocena, Head of Generative AI Innovation at RBC, and Marco Palermo, Deputy Chief Technology Officer for the City of Toronto.
“Implementing AI requires a careful, controlled approach where privacy and security design principles are applied at the outset of systems development, and, combined with human oversight, are integral to protection safeguards,” said Keating. “CASCON and CSCAN-INFOCAN are instrumental in promoting excellence in computer science research, especially as AI becomes increasingly integrated across industries. I am honoured to be a part of this important conversation.”
