On November 20th, the professional development committee for Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Halton Peel will be hosting a seminar focused on cybersecurity presented by Larry Keating, President and CEO of NPC.
In the presentation, Larry will cover why cybercrime in Canada continues to increase as a threat and will provide an update on the top cyber threats to Canadian businesses, what regulators are saying, and new ways to protect from those threats. As attacks become more sophisticated with better tradecraft that make them more difficult to identify, it is important for accounting professionals to keep up with best practices to prevent these potential threats before they cause damage to their practice. Members will learn what they can do to strengthen their cybersecurity from protecting endpoint devices, having required policies and plans in place, to knowing what to do in an event of a cyber attack.
The seminar will be held at the Mississauga Grand Banquet Hall and is recognized as two hours of CPD credits for CPA members and students.
