NPC DataGuard’s cybersecurity experts, Larry Keating (President) and Darren Mar (National Sales Manager), will be hosting a special webinar for PPI Advisors as part of an exclusive Safe Computing Webinar series on December 8th at 1:00 PM ET. In this one-hour webinar, titled Critical Safeguards for Your Business: The Incident Response Plan and Other Security Policies and Plans, we will discuss some of the most common cyber attacks facing small business professionals, how to prepare security policies to prevent an attack, and why you need an incident response plan in case there is one.
Security policies are designed to prevent a data breach by ensuring that your systems, software, and staff are on the same page about what information is most important and how to protect it. These policies set expectations for managing passwords, using computers or other device use, accessing work resources remotely, how to handle the collection, handling, and retention of data, and much more.
Incident response plans are for recovery after an incident. An IRP will ensure you and everyone on your team will know what to do, what not to do, and who to contact to minimize the damage of a cyber attack or data breach. These plans help you to assess your risks, ensure that you have proper insurance coverage and legal representation, map out how to minimize damage, how to inform your clients of the breach and address their questions, and much more.
Financial Advisors have a responsibility to protect the confidential information that they've been entrusted with. PPI has partnered with NPC creating Safe Computing Program with the goal of protecting Advisors and their clients. Through the program, NPC continues to educate Advisors on the importance of cybersecurity and provides a managed solution designed to help Advisors work securely with peace of mind.
The other topics presented for the PPI exclusive Safe Computing Webinar series are Protecting Your Identity Online and Five Critical Requirements for Your Work-From-Home Computer.
